From the NYC Municipal Archives: Images from the Motor Parkway and the 1937 Vanderbilt Cup Race
Last month the New York City Municipal Archives released a database of over 870,000 photos from their collection of 2.2 million images of New York throughout the 20th century. I found seven photos related to the Long Island Motor Parkway and the Vanderbilt Cup Races.

The Planned Fresh Meadows Motor Parkway Western Terminus in 1912
As noted in earlier posts, the final western terminus of the Long Island Motor Parkway was located at the Nassau Boulevard intersection in Fresh Meadows. However, a review of original Motor Parkway survey maps indicate that this was not the original plan.
