The centerpiece of Alva Belmont Vanderbilt’s Beacon Towers in Sands Point was this Joan of Arc Statue

A guiding inspiration for Alva Vanderbilt Belmont, Willie K's mother, was Joan of Arc.  This sculpture and the surrounding murals depicting the life of the saint were the centerpiece of Beacon Towers in Sands Point.

The life-sized statue by Prosper d'Epinay was gifted to Alva on her 49th birthday by her then husband Oliver  Hazard Perry Belmont. After Alva's death, the sculpture was donated to the National Woman's Party by her daughter Consuelo. It remain on display at the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum in Washington, DC.

Enjoy,

One slight correction, her husband was Oliver HAZARD Perry Belmont (1858-1908).
