Robert Carter’s Artwork “La Bete Noire”
While searching the Internet yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to see myself in a beautiful piece of artwork created over five years ago.
The 48" x 72" painting by artist Robert Carter was based on a wonderful photo of me driving the Beast in my role as Alexander Winton in the 2012 cable series "Men Who Built America."
Enjoy,
Howard Kroplick
The original painting was sold by RM Sotheby's in 2016 for $5,750.
Robert Carter describes his art. At 5:20 mark, he discusses his 1936 Vanderbilt Cup Race piece.
Robert Carter is selling two sizes of poster prints of his artwork on his website. I placed my order yesterday!
This photo and film clip clearly inspired the artist.

This is neat, Howard! He’ll be pleasantly surprised, too!
Yes, indeed. That is a superb poster - great colors and movement.
