Highlights From the 2nd Annual Southampton Fresh Air Home Concours d’Elegance

A wonderful crowd got to see Tucker #1044 attending the 2nd Annual Southampton Fresh Air Home Concours d'Elegance on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.

The day started with a little rain, but by noon was all sunshine with Hamptonites enjoying rare automobiles, food, craft beer and boutique shopping at the exciting concours.

A look at highlights of some of the memorable cars...

Tucker 1044

Tucker #1044 had a prime viewing location over the show field

As usual, 1044 attracted admirers all day long. Many of whom had never seen a Tucker in person.

Jaguar

The show field displayed many fine automotive examples mostly from Europe with the Tucker being only one of a very small number of American cars.

Here, a row of fine Jaguars starting L to R with a 1952 XK-120, '56 XK-140MC, '59 XK-150S, '63 Series 1 XKE and a '69 XKE Series II off at the end.

Beautiful 1969 Series II owned by Donald Scott

Mercedes

Mercedes well-represented with a '67 250SE and an '86 560SL, with a little MG, '67 Lotus Elan and 2014 Lotus Evora further down.

More Benz eye candy with its category winning 1960 300b Adenauer 4-door Cabrio, 1959 190 SL Roadster and '53 220

Austin Healey

Austin Healeys had some of their classics out. In this case, Channel 4 NBC News anchor, and best-of-show presenter, Chuck Scarborough's well-driven,1967 Healey 3000

Porsche

And what concours doesn't have its fair share of classic Porsches? Down the line is a 1964 356C Rally Racer, '63 356 Coupe, 1959 356 Cabrio D, and a 1958 356A

Miscellaneous

A single-owner, supercharged 1964 Studebaker Avanti

The lone, American muscle car in attendance, the 1969 Dodge Charger that would make the Duke Boys proud!

Next to the Charger was this amazing 1965 VW-based sand rail racer from 1995 recently restored to be a street monster.

The sand rail wasn't the only VW, this rare, 1962 Type 2 Crew Cab bus was exquisite!

Personally nice for me to see VW getting some love at such a prestigious event.

Even a couple of firetrucks were there!

A 1922 Mack pumper class A

1941 Mack pumper

1972 MG MGB

Always putting smiles on faces, the micro cars had their own appropriate little section.

L to R are the Japan only (Mazda) 1993 Autozam AZ-1, '64 Morris Mini and a 1991 Suzuki Cappuccino

A neat, and very rare, 1991 Nissan Figaro Matcha convertible

1956 Fiat Jolly and '75 Fiat 500 Giardiniara

The motorcycle classics

1929 OM (Officine Meccaniche) 665SSMM race car

1967 GHIA 450SS

1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce

1931 Ford A Sports Coupe

All in attendance were cooled off with free Creamsicles by the vintage Good Humor man!

Congratulation to Tucker # 1044 on ANOTHER BEST OF SHOW.
Spectators who attended the Southampton Fresh Air Home Concours d’Elegance got to see in person one of the most correctly restored Tuckers on the Planet.
It’s no wonder that the crowd voted for Tucker # 1044 best-of-Show Favorite Award

Sad I missed this wounderful event, hopefully next year with that great weather.

That beautiful blond as Barbie is perfect, but the pink Muntz Jet is wrong, in the movie a pink ‘56-‘57 Corvette is the car with rear seat that never was for Ken.

Great photos, clearly a great show, and yet another reminder of the amazing cars and motorcycles on Long Island.
