Kleiner’s Korner - Nassau County Surveys: Stewart Avenue & The Motor Parkway in Westbury and East Meadow
Surveys obtained from the Nassau County Dept. of Public Works indicate improvements to Stewart Avenue between Merrick Avenue and Carmen Avenue were planned during the decades that followed the 1938 closing of the Motor Parkway.

Several comments to last month's Mystery Foto #43 (identification of the Motor Parkway west of Newbridge Road in Levittown) pertained to Salisbury Park Drive. Additional documents provided by the Nassau County Department of Public Works (NCDPW) uncover improvements to the Motor Parkway in this location and its incorporation into the county highway system.
