Walter P. Chrysler, the American Locomotive Company and a 1932 Newsreel

Willie K’s Sister Consuelo Vanderbilt: The Duchess of Marlborough
William K. Vanderbilt Jr.'s sister Consuelo, the Duchess of Marlborough (center wearing a white blouse) was among the 5,000 spectators gathered at the Mineola grandstand for the 1905 Vanderbilt Cup Race. A 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race Pennant Sold for a Record $10,625
A record price for a Vanderbilt Cup Race pennant was paid by a West Coast collector for a 1906 pennant at a Bonhams' Scottsdale Auction on Thursday. The item was sold as part of the estate of the late David E. Davis, Jr., widely regarded as the "dean of automotive journalists." (0 comments)

Race Profile: The Vanderbilt Cup Race Heads to Savannah in 1911
Racing returned to Savannah in November, 1911. The Vanderbilt Cup and the Grand Prize were to be held within three days of each other. Savannah welcomed the racers, holding lavish parties and improving the circuit that AAA’s Fred Wagner called, “the finest road course in the world.” (0 comments)
