Arcadia Publishing has announced that the first edition of Vanderbilt Cup Races of Long Island has sold out. A supply of the second edition will be available next week.

Off-Topic: Film “Krocky” (1977)
In 1977, Howard and Roz Kroplick made a 16-minute Super-8 film called "Krocky", a parody on the movie "Rocky" which won the Best Picture Academy Award in March 1977. The film is presented in two parts.

Video:“The Mets Take the Field” (2009)
As described in my website profile, in addition to my passion for Long Island and auto racing history, I have been a die-hard Met fan since 1963 and can often be seen waving a large Met flag on the Excelsior level behind home plate at CitiField. My friends and I have also been included in the official video shown at every 2009 home game, just before the Mets take the field. Check out the flag-waver at the 46-second mark of this brief film.

Video: Mission to Cuba
In March 2009, 25 members of the Sid Jacobson JCC of East Hills, New York went on a government-approved mission to explore the Jewish community in Cuba. This nine-minute film captures photo highlights of this mission including views of; Havana, the three major synagogues, a Jewish cemetery founded in 1906, and the Cuban people.

Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society Presentation, November 16, 2008
Highlighted by Newsday as a weekend Best Bet, this special Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society presentation at the Farmingdale Library was attended by over 110 people including the grandaughter of William K. Vanderbilt, Jr. The presentation and book signing by Howard Kroplick included a discussion of the Vanderbilt Cup Races, the Long Island Motor Parkway and rare historical images of Farmingdale and Bethpage.
