The Planning and Construction of the Long Island Expressway Through the Roslyn Area: 1953 – 1959
Roslyn Landmark Society trustee Mitchell Schwartz, of Flower Hill, has published an extensive history report for the Roslyn Landmark Society on the construction of the Long Island Expressway through the Roslyn area (between exits 36 and 39) in the 1950s. The report highlights the planning and construction of the highway through the area.

Earth Day Weekend was celebrated with the clean-up of the Mackay Estate Gate Lodge
In celebration of 2022 Earth Day Weekend, a group of members of the Roslyn Landmark Society, Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society and residents of East Hills and Roslyn cleaned up debris and planted pansies around the Mackay Estate Gate Lodge in East Hills.

Harbor Hill- The Roslyn Country Home of a 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race Spectator- Clarence Mackay
As a friend of William k. Vanderbilt, Jr. and a member of high society, Clarence Mackay had a premium seat to watch the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race. With the assistance of master mapper Frank Femenias, the Roslyn (now East Hills) location of Mackay's long demolished Harbor Hill estate is explored below.

Vanderbilt Cup Racers on Glen Cove Road & Old Westbury Road & Special Exhibit “Images of East Hills”
My initial interest in the Vanderbilt Cup Races was the discovery that Glen Cove Road near my home in East Hills was part of the courses for both the 1905 and 1906 races. Below are some photos of the Vanderbilt Cup Race drivers on Glen Cove Road and Old Westbury Road (now the Long Island Expressway Service Road).
