Only 8 miles….That is such a little bit. I am so glad that it worked out so well for you….In my own experience after doing a restoration I have had to do extensive shake down runs to iron out the kinks…
I’d love to hear about the ride experience of a fully revived Tucker when you get a moment…Maybe even do a video and on board discussion .

Looks like a great time Howard…
Question, how many shake down miles did you put on the Tucker before shipping it to the west coast…?
How many total miles are on it since the resto?

We logged about 8 miles in New Jersey after the restoration completion. Including the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance, we have added about 95 miles.

It’s not about winning. It’s about being a giving and sharing person with the distinct ability to make us all feel like winners and owners and participants in the rich Automotive heritage you constantly deliver. Love being along for your ride in this life Howard.

A ca. ‘36 Auburn 851 and a ca. ‘30 Duesenberg J, both apparently Boattail Speedsters,  Back of Austie Clark’s LI Auto Museum ca. 1950?  Wild guess that they survived to show at PB?  Sam, III

I already sent kudos but, at least on my browser, something went haywire between 1044 and 1049.  I get HTML coding, apparently for a Rob Ida video.  Sam, III

I guess the location as South Hampton NY at what became Henry Austin Clark’s museum so mid 1940’s. and it the Mormon Meteor which had achieved some land sped record and one of two short wheel based super charged Dusenbergs which appeared at Pebble Beach this year.  note small wrong headlights.

They are both 1935 Duesenbergs. The one on the left is a model SJ nicknamed the “Mormon Meteor” once owned by Ab Jenkins who set many speed records with it on the Bonneville salt flats. The other is a model SSJ once owned by Gary Cooper. The SJ won “Best In Show” at Pebble Beach in 2007. I think they both set sales records when they were sold at auction at various times. Both of them may have been owned by Briggs Cunningham when the photo was taken. Just a guess but the location resembles the back of the Long Island Automotive Museum around 1953.

Congratulations Howard, I watched the entire 3 and a half hour broadcast of the show in the hopes of seeing you receive an award unfortunately they didn’t broadcast it. They did however show a glimpse of you and your team in the first few minutes of the broadcast driving the car. Anyway, congratulations! Pebble Beach had to have been an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see the car back home on Long Island.

Just noticed the background of the “Team” photo (beware men with beards!); sure looks like one of only 35 Packard Darrin convertible Victorias built from 1937 to 1942 at the right.  That’s even rarer than the Tuckers!  Heady company, indeed.  Sam, III
