The flat countryside void of trees makes me believe this is either Wantagh Avenue or Massapequa-Hicksville Rd bridges.  Except those have no curve.  NHP, Shelter Rock, IU Willets, Searingtown, Willis Avenue, Roslyn Rd, Hillside Ave all, I suspect, would have trees in the picture.  Westbury Avenue, for me is a possibility.

I remember this mystery, and it may never be truly solved. Originally Mystery Foto #45   11/11/2019 My guess back then remains the same. LIMP Bridge over Clinton Rd, Garden City. Viewed northwest Circa 1910 -11 Even the flipped image ( good thinking Steve Lucas ) still strikes as the Bridge over Clinton, just viewing southeast. LIMP is an arc curve in both directions, east and north. There are other possible locations, but my guess makes sense to me.

I was there! A COLD WINDY DAY! In the second photo, I was doing my show and tell of the Black Beast that I know well by now. The group I was talking to were amuse of my coment about the Motor Parkway plate on the radiator as the first E-PASS of its day. After the quick walkarount I liked that ‘29-‘30 LaSalle.

After staring at this photo for far too long and not being able to place it, I thought maybe there’s something wrong with the photo. It’s possible the photographer flipped the negative before printing so I reversed it (see attached) and I think we may have the answer: looking east at the Clinton Road bridge.

Another stumper. My guess, based on the curve, being a LIMP overpass, and the general pattern of fencing both on the bridge and surrounding area, would be the Newbridge Avenue / Bellmore Road overpass, looking east.

So sorry Howard to read about your injury while in Dominica(I love that island country, but can be challenging walkwise!)
Wishing you steady progress in your recovery.

Could be any of a dozen spots, but my guess is the North Hempstead Turnpike overpass in what is now Fresh Meadows, Queens. That would probably be around 1927. If true, it would be a great photo.

Great show with great cars. It was good to see the Black Beast up close, even though I have seen it before. The Canadian Ford (the Meteor) was a surprise.

George Thayer’s father, Captain Seth Thayer, raced against Commodore Vanderbilt’s steam yacht on the Hudson River.  Very famous painting about the race now at the NY historical Society.  My great great great grandfather Seth won the race.

The Thayer car is in front of Robinhurst, George and Jane Jones Thayer’s house overlooking Hemstead Harbor on Long Island.  Any more information wanted, just let me know.  These were my great great grandparents

In the mystery photo, note the Motor Pkwy abutment was aligned along the south side of Carnation Rd before curving north after passing the bridge

Great mystery photo this week.  Thanks Al for sharing the photo.
Greg - just a slight correction to where Salisbury is located.  I also lived close to the mystery photo location, just west of Newbridge Road.  However, the area is actually Levittown and was originally part of East Meadow until the Post Office moved my development (built in the mid-1950s) into the Levittown zip code.  Salisbury actually borders the Wantagh Parkway on its east side.  My area is directly west of Newbridge Road.  Anything west of the parkway is Salisbury.  Sorry to be so anal, but just as a researcher I try to be as accurate as possible.  Thanks again, and keep those mystery photos coming.

I met Chick at a car show in the late 80’s, I had a 55’ Chevy like the one in american Graffiti. I have pictures of him & I & me sitting behind the wheel. I also have video of him & the car at a car show in middle Island, long Island & we met big Daddy. It was a great thrill to sit behind the wheel
&  meet Chick, you’re right ,he was a great guy. He said his father was a Tucker salesman & that he bought it off a guy that bought it at the auction. He said he got a new eng. in the crate & the bumper from #53 & the maroon paint was $160 a gallon. He had looked at another one prior but he sad there was too much rot on it.He also told me that while an owner of one was in the hospital the town came & took it & buried it on the banks of lake Michigan, they thought it was an Oldsmobile. He also said the rather than give back a car a dealer sank one in lake Michigan. Guard that car with you lives guys ,it’s priceless!

Another amazing historic Motor Pkwy photo - one that I haven’t seen before. The street sign and fuel truck on the right gave away the location. I believe we’re looking west on newly-paved Carnation Rd in Levittown towards where the Motor Pkwy Newbridge Rd bridge once stood. All that remains in this photo is the west abutment wall. With the east wall removed, the west wall will follow suit sometime later for Salisbury Park Drive continuity. Appears an electrical supply station in the background on left side of the photo. The electric station remains today at the SW corner of Newbridge Rd and Salisbury Park Dr. Guessing this photo was taken after 1948 when the bridge was removed during Levittown development

Ah, the 1950s—a time that feels almost legendary to me. As I understand it, Rudy Vallée, the famed singer, saxophonist, and bandleader, took it upon himself to open the gas station since there weren’t any conveniently located near his home. And with that, the story unfolds.
This striking picture is displayed on the large picture window outback at Lucille’s American Cafe, nestled at 2250 Weston Rd, Weston, FL 33326. The cafe is a haven for classic comfort food, serving up dishes that evoke a sense of nostalgia and the timeless charm of the 50s. If you ever have the chance, step inside—it’s a delightful experience, especially for those who appreciate a journey back in time.

It is great the some women get into buying old cars back into the 1950’s into the 1970’s and fix them up as new cars.  I am a professional photographer and like to go to these car shows.  I took auto machine in high school and use to fixed my car when I was young.
