Highlights from the Amazing Duesenberg Open House at Waterfront in Roslyn

This past Sunday, 11/2/2025, one of the largest open house events ever, was held to see the Kroplick Collection at The Waterfront in Roslyn!

The Long Island Volkswagen Club brought many 1950's vintage VW's to the Waterfront, with members of the Buick and Oldsmobile Clubs, and the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society also enjoying a beautiful day looking at an extremely diverse grouping of almost every category of automobiles ever put on the road.

With special guests, Rob Ida, Mike Tucker and AACA Official/Judge Alexander Soultanis also in attendance, an amazing time was had by all!

Here's the highlights.

A museum piece! The stunning 1954 Oval window Beetle of Walt Kern

Yours truly with a gift from the LIVC of a rare bottle of ketchup from the Wolfsburg, Germany Volkswagen factory since I'm a huge VW nut! Thanks guys!

The Volkswagen factory actually has a sausage factory within the German auto factory to produce sausages and ketchup to feed their thousands of employees. Starting in the early 70's VW found it more cost efficient to make their own food than bring it in from the outside. They both have their own part numbers and to this day VW makes more sausages than they make cars for the entire world!

Overall it was a wonderful day with everyone in the crowd enjoying some of the most beautiful cars in the world.

Thank you to all who attended!!
