Film: Chaplin, Normand, Sennett and the 1914 Vanderbilt Cup Race
The best documentation of the 1914 Vanderbilt Cup Race is a Mack Sennett-produced slapstick comedy starring Mabel Normand, Ben Turpin and Charlie Chaplin called Mabel at the Wheel. Actual scenes of the race, won by Ralph DePalma in a Mercedes, were used as part of the film.

Film Clip “1960 Cornelius Vanderbilt Cup Race”
An attempt was made to bring back the Vanderbilt Cup Races to Long Island in 1960. The 75-mile race featured Formula Junior cars and was held in the parking lot of Roosevelt Raceway on June 19, 1960. The winner of the race was Harry Carter in a Stanguellini.

Film “1936 Vanderbilt Cup Race”
This newsreel highlights the 1936 George Vanderbilt Cup Race held at the new Roosevelt Raceway on Long Island. The race was held on October 12, 1936 and was won by the Italian ace driver Tazio Nuvolari in an Alfa Romeo.
