The “Classic Chryslers” class includes 1920s and 1930s era cars, especially custom bodied examples of that era. The “Formula One Grid” class will include samples of the highest level of motorsport from the past century and recent past. “Powered by Ford” will include any classic vehicle that has a Ford engine, so this class will include Sunbeam Tiger, DeTomaso Mangusta, Shelby Cobra and TVR Griffith.

The motorcycle division features HRD Vincent, a British manufacturer associated with models such as the Black Shadow which was the fastest production model available at that time. Also featured will be Brough Superior, often referred to as the “Rolls Royce of Motorcycles”, which was the favored ride of T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia. The third featured class this year will be “Under 250CC Bikes Prior to 1974″ opening up this class to a wide variety of bikes with smaller displacement engines.

Once again we will have our Friday Night Barbecue, the Saturday Road Rally and Motorsport Seminars, Saturday night Black Tie Gala and Art Show Preview and the concours d’elegance on Sunday. A unique feature of our event is the display of horse-drawn coaches and carriages which process about 10 miles to Radnor Hunt. Classic Chrysler, Formula One Grid, Powered by Ford

and HRD Vincent Motorcycles to Share Radnor Hunt Show Field

Malvern, PA June 5, 2014 – The Car Selection Committee of the Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance announced that the featured marques of the 18th Annual event are Classic Chrysler, Formula One Grid and Powered by Ford. British maker HRD Vincent and Brough Superior are the featured motorcycle makes for the 2014 event and share the spotlight with Under 250cc Bikes Prior to 1974. The concours takes place September 12, 13 and 14 on the grounds of Radnor Hunt.

“This year we will feature classic Chrysler cars, Formula One Grid including Formula One cars from both the past and recent past,” said Michael G. Tillson III, chairman, Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance. “And the show field will also showcase cars that are powered by Ford engines like the DeTomaso Pantera, Shelby Cobra and Sunbeam Tiger. The motorcycle field will feature HRD Vincent, Brough Superior and Under 250cc Bikes Prior to 1974. The 2014 event will once again feature a display of vintage horse-drawn coaches and carriages that illustrate the evolution of transportation.”

The Radnor Hunt Concours d’Elegance encompasses three days of activities beginning with the Friday evening Barbecue, followed by the always popular Road Rally through the scenic countryside of Chester County on Saturday morning, culminating in a catered lunch. The Saturday evening Black Tie Gala and Art Show Preview is the prelude to the main event, the concours d’elegance on Sunday.

Each year, the concours event, an invitation-only show, has a featured marque, a vehicle type or coachbuilder and a motorcycle make. The 2014 event will showcase the most interesting and significant classic Chryslers, Formula One cars and cars that are powered by Ford engines.

Included in the selection of cars destined for the show field are a 1962 Facel Vega Facel II, a 1936 Chrysler Imperial C-10 Airflow and a 1955 Chrysler Imperial Prototype convertible. In addition, a rare 1937 Chrysler C-15 Town Car with body by LeBaron built for Walter P. Chrysler’s wife is confirmed for the show field along with a 1955 Chrysler Imperial Prototype Convertible built for Chrysler Chairman K.T. Keller.

Featured motorcycle classes will be Vincent/HRD, Brough Superior and Under 250cc Bikes Prior to 1974.  Confirmed entries include;.  In addition, author Matthew Biberman will be an honored guest, writer of ‘Big Sid’s Vincati’, a memoir about his relationship with his late father, the legendary Vincent tuner, Big Sid Biberman. Mr. Biberman Sr. has been nominated to the AMA Hall of Fame for 2014.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The Thorncroft Equestrian Center is committed to a mainstreaming approach for teaching horseback riding and to promoting the development of new and independent therapeutic riding programs, particularly for those with special needs.
