Greg O’s Garage: Newly Discovered 1919 Blueprints of Camp Mills in Garden City
Long Island contractor Roy Knoernschild has once again generously donated more survey maps. This time, Roy discovered a 1919 Completion Atlas of Camp Mills in Garden City. The Atlas was given today to Bill Bellmer, the village historian of Garden City, for the Garden City Archives.

Update-Malverne Treasure #6: 1908 Survey of the Proposed Entrance to the Bethpage Lodge
Over 300 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints, documents and drawings discovered by Roy Knoernschild in a Malverne basement in February 2017 are still being categorized, repaired and scanned. This July 8, 1908 Motor Parkway survey documented the "proposed entrance to parkway on property of William A. Finger at Junction of Manetto Hill Road and Round Swamp Road."

Malverne Treasure #4: Survey of the Meadowbrook Lodge in Westbury (January 1938)
Over 200 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints, documents and drawings discovered by Roy Knoernschild in a Malverne basement in February 2017 are being categorized, repaired and scanned. This January 1938 Motor Parkway survey documented the Meadowbrook Lodge, four months before the road and the lodge were closed.

Malverne Treasure #3: Plan Showing the Entrances to the Motor Parkway at Rocky Hill Road
Over 200 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints, documents and drawings discovered by Roy Knoernschild in a Malverne basement in February 2017 are being categorized, repaired and scanned. This 1924 Motor Parkway survey documented the Rocky Hill Road Bridge, the two entrances and the Rocky Hill Lodge.

Malverne Treasure #2: A Proposed Footbridge and Subway in Albertson/Williston Park
Another gem from the Malverne Treasure Chest discovered by Roy Knoernschild documented plans for a crossing over or under the Motor Parkway due to the construction of the Park Avenue School in Williston Park.

Malverne Treasure #1: A Letter from William K. Vanderbilt, Jr.
Over 150 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints and drawings discovered by Roy Knoernschild in a Malverne basement are being categorized, repaired and scanned. During this process, another gem was discovered-a signed 1911 letter from William K. Vanderbilt Jr. sent to an assistant engineer for the Long Island Motor Parkway.

LI Herald Cover Article: Historic Long Island Maps Found in Malverne Basement
Reporter Rossana Weitekamp has written a cover article for the LI Herald on the recently discovered Motor Parkway surveys and maps. Some of these "treasures" will be displayed at Thursday's Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society beginning at 7:00 PM at the Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Avenue, Bethpage, New York.

VanderbiltCupRaces.com Exclusive: A Motor Parkway Treasure Chest Found in Malverne
A treasure chest of over 100 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints and drawings has been discovered in the basement of a commercial building in Malverne, Long Island. The chest belonged to engineer Arthur Archibald who surveyed the Motor Parkway from 1906 to 1938.
