Kleiner’s Korner: A Garage on the Vanderbilt Cup Race Course
The Mineola Motor Car Co. was located on Jericho Turnpike and Willis Avenue, near Krug's Hotel. It advertised being on the Vanderbilt Cup Course and in articles noted its gasoline storage system was especially useful to drivers during the race.

Part 4 of this series takes us back east to Buffalo, NY which after the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race decided to put a bid in for the following year's race. Thomas Flyer manufacturer, E. R. Thomas, supported the bid. All documentation from The Motor Way of October 25, 1906 except as noted.

Kleiner’s Korner: My Personal Tribute to Tom Seaver
From a 13 year old in 1969 to today, Tom Seaver and the NY Mets would always be special to me. Hope, being the underdog, perseverance epitomized the NY Mets and their fans in those early years. I feel it only fitting that Kleiner's Korner devote this brief post to Tom Seaver, may he rest in peace. Another baseball great of Seaver's era, Lou Brock also just passed - may he also rest in peace.

Kleiner’s Korner: Fred Wagner Hosting a 1915 Party
Beginning in 1911, Vanderbilt Cup Race starter, Fred Wagner, hosted an annual party on his Smithtown farm for those associated with the automobile industry. In 1915 over 100 invitations were given out. Food, sports and fun were the name of the game. All documents except as noted courtesy of The Motor World, September 29, 1915.
