Helck Family Collection: Old 16 at the Opening of the Bridgehampton Race Circuit in 1957
For the inaugural races at the Bridgehampton Race Circuit in 1957, Old 16 participated in the Vintage Exhibition Run. Prior to this appearance, Old 16, the winner of the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race, stopped off at the Long Island Automotive Museum in Southampton.

Helck Family Collection: Bill Mitchell’s XP-700 Corvette Concept Car and XP-87 Stingray Racer
Another treasure has been discovered in the Helck Family Collection- A 1960 letter from Bill Mitchell, then head of General Motors Styling, to Peter Helck with photos of "my Stingray and Corvette." The two automobiles were the historic 1958 XP-700 Corvette Concept Car and the 1959 XP-87 Stingray Racer.

Helck Family Collection: “The Most Thrilling Race I Have Ever Seen” by Barrett H. Clark, Jr.
In the November 1947 issue of Speed Age influential editor and literary manager Barrett H. Clark, Jr. described "the most thrilling race I have ever seen." Surprisingly, the race was last race of the 1946 VMCCA Jubilee Anniversary held at the Mineola Fair Grounds in Garden City.

Helck Family Collection: The Story Behind Peter Helck’s Artwork for this Vanderbilt Cup Race Poster
The poster artwork for the 1936 Vanderbilt Cup Race was created by artist Peter Helck. This rolled-up, untouched poster measuring 40 inches by 28 inches and printed on high-quality paper was discovered in Peter Helck's archives.
