Over 80 people attended the joint meeting of Central Park Historical Society and the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society to hear "Memories of the Motor Parkway in Bethpage". A wonderful time was had by all!

Kleiner’s Kolumn: Documenting the Motor Parkway in Relation to the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway

Highlights from the Motor Parkway Field Trip to Bethpage
Members of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society and the Central Park Historical Society had a wonderful time exploring the Bethpage section of the Motor Parkway today. Highlights included Bethpage memories and tales as told by Lenny Mulqueen, Paul Mering, Anne Albertson and Arthur Mauriello.

Field Trip to Explore the Bethpage Section of the Motor Parkway This Saturday Morning
Inspired by Sammy & Dave Russo's exploration of the Bethpage section of our favorite historic parkway, the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society has joined forces with the Central Park Historical Society to organize a field trip at 10:00 am this Saturday.

Central Park Historical Society Marker: The 1908 Motor Parkway Ground-Breaking Ceremony
Earlier this month, the Central Park Historical Society dedicated two markers in Bethpage honoring the Long Island Motor Parkway. The second marker was placed on Stewart Avenue near the site of the Motor Parkway Ground-Breaking Ceremony held on June 6, 1908.

Central Park Historical Society Marker: Central Avenue/LIRR Motor Parkway Bridge
The Central Park Historical Society has placed two markers in Bethpage honoring the Long Island Motor Parkway. The first marker was placed on the north side of Central Avenue at the site of the longest Motor Parkway bridge.

Central Park Historical Society to Honor the Long Island Motor Parkway
Members of the Central Park Historical Society have informed me that they plan to honor the Motor Parkway with two historical markers; one on Stewart Avenue the site of the 1908 Ground-Breaking Ceremony and another at the site of the Central Avenue/Railroad Motor Parkway Bridge.
