Mystery Foto #21 Solved A 1906 B.L.M. Racer
Frank Lawrance has forwarded information on his grandfather Charles Lawrance, the "L" in the B.L.M. car that was a candidate for competing in the 1906 Americal Trial for the Vanderbilt Cup Race.

Race Profile: The 1906 American Elimination Trial
As in 1905, an American Elimination Trial determined the five racers to represent the United States in the Vanderbilt Cup Race. Of 16 entries, 12 cars survived the practice runs to race on Saturday, September 22, 1906.

A Mystery Photo from the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race: The B.L.M. Racer
One of the many nice people that I met last Friday at the Saratoga Automobile Museum was Marie Foster of Champlain Canal Tour Boats. Marie brought along this photo with the caption "1906 Vanderbilt Racer, NYC." One of her favorite vintage car photos for years, no one had ever been able to identify the car. Since I always enjoy a Vanderbilt Cup Race challenge, here is my attempt to solve the mystery:
