The six Vanderbilt Cup Races held on Long Island from 1904 to 1910 were the greatest sporting events of their day, and the first international automobile road races held in the United States. The races had a far-reaching impact on the development of American automobiles and parkways. That looks like the Aurora Cup, awarded during a series of 4 races run as the National Stock Chassis Road Races on the Elgin (illinois) Road Race Circuit in August 25-26, 1911. The four races were for varying distances with the Aurora Cup being the shortest at 135 miles. The other 3 races were the Kane County Cup (169 miles), Illinois Cup (203 miles), and the Elgin National Trophy Cup (305 miles). The ALCO Black Beast (along with 2 other ALCOs) was entered in the Elgin Cup but did not finish.
