Howard and Roz,
So nice too meet you in Beverly a few weeks ago. I am glad you are able to share your collection in so many venues. St Michaels Concours is a favorite of mine as I lived there for a long time and know some of the heavy hitters of that event.

The Tucker is amazing, you deserved the accolades you received. Hope to see you up our way again!

Gary Cooper, Clark Gable, and James Cagney. The cars? I leave that to experts.

I think the prior ownership by George Lucas coupled with the early production number will result in a winning bid of 2.5 million.

Tucker # 1003 appears to be in a great example of an early Tucker.
Given its prior ownership and very detailed restoration I think that it’s going to sell above the sale estimate of $2 million.
My guess $2.1 million hammer price.
Anything less than $2 million is a bargain.

Kelly, I do have photos of it somewhere when he had it. I will have to look. I will ask him about the body. I believe it was a known fact that it was Brewster. Austie most likely documented it as such. I also own Austies 1911 American lafrance which is pictured above as well.

Photo “A” shows Gary Cooper leaning on his 1931 Duesenberg Model J Derham Tourster. Photo “B” has Clark Gable in his 1935 Duesenberg Model JN Coupe. Photo “C” has James Cagney beside a 1931 Duesenberg Model J Dietrich Phaeton which he may or may not have owned. Some reports have that photo being set up by Duesenberg as publicity. All three cars still exist today. Coop’s car is in the Heritage Museum in Sandwich, MA. Gable’s car was last offered for sale by Gooding in 2022 but I don’t think it sold. The Cagney car is in the Richard Driehaus Collection at Chicago Vintage Motor Carriage. Attached is one other famous Duesy owned by Jay Leno.
