Part II: Then & Now: The Motor Parkway “Mayan Ruins” of Garden City
Yesterday the "Mayan Ruins" in Garden City were documented as abutments of an unfinished Motor Parkway bridge built as part of the 1907 agreement with the Garden City Company. Today, a "Then and Now" treatment of the long-forgotten bridge dating is provided from 1928 to 2010. (2 comments)

Part I: The Motor Parkway “Mayan Ruins” in Garden City
Art writes: "I recently came across what might have been remnants of a bridge that ran over the Motor Parkway in Garden City. Through a friend's suggestion who lives on Pell Terrace, I was able to visit and take some photos but I wonder if you have any information. as to whether it was ever built. I found a map from 1914 that shows the Parkway crossing what was then called "Mineola Road" which ran between Washington Ave. and Clinton Road in Garden City. Great Neck AutoFest Sets Record for Black Beast Drivers & Mechanicians
Last Sunday's Great Neck AutoFest/Festival was a great success. Thousands came out to enjoy 50 vintage cars, music, carnival rides, a petting zoo and food. A total of 205 people sat in the Alco-6 Racer, setting an all-time record for Black Beast drivers at a single event. (0 comments)

The Motor Parkway in Garden City: The Russell Road Backyards
Less than one mile of the 44-mile Long Island Motor Parkway was located in the Village of Garden City. However, within this small area were many fascinating sites; a Motor Parkway tunnel, one unfinished bridge, the Clinton Road Motor Parkway Bridge, the Motor Parkway Office and the Garden City Lodge.
