Exclusive Video: Emerson Fittipaldi Driving the Alco Black Beast During the 2011 Indy 500 Parade Lap
This ten-minute "thrill of a lifetime" video documents two-time Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi and Howard Kroplick driving the restored Alco Black Beast during the 2011 Indy 500 Race parade lap on May 29, 2011. Over the 2 1/2 mile lap, the racer averaged 45 mph with a maximum speed of 68 mph. Highlights to look for:

Postcards from the Long Island Automotive Museum: Alcos
The Long Island Automotive Museum offered a wide array of related merchandise including; jewelry, label buttons, photos, model car kits, china and series of postcards. As described in this brochure , provided by Walter McCarthy, there were over 500 cars postcards published featuring the cars of "Henry Austin Clark, Jr. and other noted collections". In Search of Alcos: #8 1911 40-HP Alco Toy Tonneau Touring Car on Long Island

In Search of Alcos: #7 1912 Alco Touring Car Owned By Andy Oldman
Over the last 25 years, it has been widely written that there are only 12 original, rebuilt and restored Alcos that exist in museums and private collections. As requested by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, I have been attempting to track down the Alco "12". As noted by Roberto Rodriguez of the Seal Cove Auto Museum located on Mount Desert Island, Maine, Alco #7 is owned by Andy Oldman of New London, New Hampshire:

Over the last 25 years, it has been widely written that there are only 12 original, rebuilt and restored Alcos that exist in museums and private collections. As requested by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, I have been attempting to track down the Alco "12". As noted by Phil last week, Alco #6 can be found at Fondation Berliet in Lyon, France.
