The Mulford Special: “A Roadster That Saved a City”

Five years ago Wendell McCrady Jr. purchased a unique roadster that most believed no longer existed. The Mulford Special car was one of seven prototypes built by Ralph Mulford, veteran of the 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Race and ten Indy 500 Races (1911-1922). Driver Profile: Camille Jenatzy- “The Red Devil” and His Tragic Death

A Belgian race car diver, Janatzy broke the land speed record three times and was the first man to break the 100 km/hr barrier. He was nicknamed Le Diabo Rouge ("The Red Devil") for his color of his beard. (1 comments)

The Greatest 33 Profile: Ray Harroun

As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500, last year race fans aroung the world selected "The Greatest 33" drivers in Indianapolis 500 history. #25 was Ray Harroun who won the 1911 Indy 500, the 1909 Wheatley Sweepstakes and finished 21st in the 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Race.
