LIMA Calls for Action at the Upcoming Riverhead Town Meeting on November 16th
The Long Island Motorsports Association (LIMA) has requested a call to action for its members and the motorsport community to voice their opinions on recent events concerning Riverhead Resorts and their attempt to purchase the Calverton property. Painless Parker and the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race
Earlier this week I sent Dr. Jack Binder, the historian for both the Town of North Hempstead and Village of Lake Success, a set of photos on the Manhasset Valley section of the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race Course. The Spinney Hill Grandstand for the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race
The primary grandstand for the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race was at the Start/Finish Line on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury. A second grandstand with a capacity of 500 spectators was built near Spinney Hill in Manhasset. (4 comments)

Cablevision Film Series “Vanderbilt Cup Races”
Cablevision has developed a film series on the Vanderbilt Cup Races held on Long Island. This 8-minute segment describes the origins of the race and the Alco Black Beast racer that won the 1909 and 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Races.
