    A record price for a Vanderbilt Cup Race pennant was paid by a West Coast collector for a 1906 pennant at a Bonhams' Scottsdale Auction on Thursday. The item was sold as part of the estate of the late David E. Davis, Jr., widely regarded as the "dean of automotive journalists." (0 comments)

    Racing returned to Savannah in November, 1911. The Vanderbilt Cup and the Grand Prize were to be held within three days of each other. The races had a far-reaching impact on the development of American automobiles and parkways.
