Central Park Historical Society to Honor the Long Island Motor Parkway

Members of the Central Park Historical Society have informed me that they plan to honor the Motor Parkway with two historical markers; one on Stewart Avenue the site of the 1908 Ground-Breaking Ceremony and another at the site of the Central Avenue/Railroad Motor Parkway Bridge. (0 comments)

In celebration of the continuing efforts to preserve the Long Island Motor Parkway, members of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society and all owners of pre-1939 automobiles (the Parkway closed in 1938) are invited to rally at Old Bethpage Village Restoration on Saturday, June 30, 2012 and drive over the Old Bethpage Motor Parkway Bridge. The 1914 Vanderbilt Holbrook Cup, Charlie Chaplin and a Historic Film
