The “Sensational” 1910 Port Jefferson Hill Climb
Today the first Port Jefferson Hill Climb held 100 years ago will be re-enacted at Port Jefferson Village Center. At 10:00 AM, come see the Alco "Black Beast" and many other vintage cars climb the same hill as the early racing greats. Film “Around the Block in the Black Beast”
In preparation for this Sunday's Port Jefferson Hill Climb, a racing video camera has been attached to the side of the Alco "Black Beast". In a test run, a three-minute ride up and down "East Hills" was dcoumented in this three-minute film. (3 comments)

Port Jefferson to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Hill Climb on Sunday
During the first decade of the 1900s, there were three types of automobile competitions; road racing to evaluate speed and endurance, long-distance tours to determine durability and hill-climbs to measure strength and torque. This Sunday, the Village of Port Jefferson will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the most famous Long Island hill climbs. (0 comments)

Found-The 1906 George McKesson Brown Scrapbook
Just ten days before the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race, pharmaceutical magnate George McKesson Brown of Huntington purchased the #7 Mercedes to compete in the race. He selected veteran driver William Luttgen (left) and his mechanician Joe Marx (right) to lead his racing team. (1 comments)

Film “50 Years of Automotive Progress” Featuring Henry Austin Clark, Jr.
Today's post is a real treat.... a seven-minute film that has not been seen by the public for over 52 years. "Fifty Years of Automotive Progress" was created by independent film maker Scudder Boyd and featured Henry Austin Clark, Jr and several of his vintage cars from the Long Island Automotive Museum including these six: This seven-minute film "50 Years of Automotive Progress" was created by "scudder boyd films".
