Long Island Motor Parkway Bridge Series: #11 Little Neck Road Motor Parkway Bridge in Queens
When the 48 miles of the Motor Parkway were completed in 1926, a total of 65 bridges were built by William K. Vanderbilt Jr. and his associates over and under the parkway. Going west to east, the next to last of the 12 Queens bridges was the trestle Motor Parkway bridge over Little Neck Road (later renamed Little Neck Parkway): (8 comments)

CSI Report:Montague Roberts and Robert Jardine in the 1905 American Elimination Trial
Steve Lucas forwarded a request from Barbara Russell, the Brookhaven Town Historian, to help identify two photos recently discovered in their archives. Steve wrote: "She was hoping that you could identify them as to date, event, place, and type of car. They appear to be a race and thought maybe one of the Vanderbilt Cup Races." (5 comments)

Highlights from the First Annual Motor Parkway Parade
The First Annual Motor Parkway Parade was successfully held last Sunday. Celebrating the completion of the Lake Ronkonkoma section of the Motor Parkway, the event was organized by the Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association and had been previously rained out on August 7, 2011.
