Cars on the Showfield
Winner in Class and overall a spectacular car, was this 1937 Cord. But it was its provenance that sets it apart. This was none other than Amelia Earhart's long lost Cord. The car was lost when split up in the 50's. Over the last few decades or so, the car's original parts have been located, and the car has been restored to the exact configuration Earhart had the car just before her ill-fated flight.
The Earhart Cord is one of the very few vehicles on the National Historic Vehicle Register and has even been displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Well-known car dealer and restorer, Dick Shappy brought out his 1925 Duesenberg Model A boat tail speedster. This car originally found as scrap in a Long Island junkyard.

Howard, no. 32 was actually a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK. I took a photo of the storyboard in case it’s useful. Cheers.
