That’s Eddie Rickenbacker driving with mechanician Pete Henderson in a Maxwell at the 1915 Vanderbilt Cup race in California. Rickenbacker was the mechanician in the number 8 Frayer-Miller racer for the 1906 American Elimination race to qualify for the subsequent Vanderbilt Cup race. Rickenbacker also drove the #42 Duesenberg in the 1914 Indy 500 and finished 10th.
