ALCO Heritage Museum grand opening to be June 10

The ALCO Heritage Museum will hold its grand opening on Sunday, June 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. at its new location at 1910 Maxon Road in Schenectady.
The Museum is dedicated to preserving the cultural and industrial history of Schenectady especially the history involving the American Locomotive Company and the Schenectady Locomotive Works.
Historical artifacts will be on display including an M-47 Patton Tank and the 1909 Black Beast Automobile which were both built by ALCO and an operating Canadian Pacific Railroad locomotive.
A model railroad, “ALCO and the Civil War,” “ALCO and Defense,” ALCO oral histories, an erecting shop and a FA-1 Locomotive Simulator that is under construction will be on display.
Congressman Paul Tonko and Assemblyman James Tedisco will be among speakers at the grand opening.
