Restoration Update #6: The 1930 Duesenberg J Murphy Convertible Sedan Berline #2448 J-399 is on the road to the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
The restoration of the 1930 Duesenberg J. Murphy Convertible Sedan Berline is now complete. We had the opportunity to visit this historic automobile the day before the transport truck arrived to drive it to Pebble Beach, CA. New Jersey-based automotive restoration specialist Stephen Babinsky and his team passionately and professionally put the final touches in place that make this Duesenberg a stunning classic.
Here's a link to the previous restoration updates from our visits to Stephen Babinsky’s Automotive Restoration shop that all led up to this very moment.

Freshly detailed and ready to go!
The amazing dashboard.
The Kroplick Collection’s 1930 Duesenberg certainly has a lot of elegant chrome and lights up front. The word of the day was “stunning,” and it shows.
Duesenberg spare tire mount rearview mirrors have been installed since our previous visit.
A new hood ornament has also been installed that features the correct two-part design. Note the two rivets on the stem of the ornament; this is how they looked when brand new back in 1930.
The previous hood ornament when the restoration began did not have the two rivets.
The beating heart of the Duesenberg is a work of art, and it drives like a dream.
Thumbs up all the way around
And just like that, the Duesenberg is headed to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance!
