Documenting 1947 New York Region Tucker Sales and Dealerships

Documenting 1947 New York Region Tucker Sales and Dealerships

I recently acquired an original Tucker Corporation document that provided information on New York Region dealerships and sales as of December 5, 1947.  The document supports the belief that the Tucker '48 was on its way to becoming a success. Without the benefit of even having a showroom automobile, the 129 New York dealerships had sold 24,025 Tucker '48s representing 85% of the quota.

A total of 2,175 Tuckers were sold in the 17 Nassau and Suffolk dealerships. Today, there is only one Tucker in New York State.

Enjoy,

Howard,
I remember the Tucker dealership building at 46 Fulton St. in Hempstead.  It was south of the Hempstead business district.  To my knowledge, they never even had a car to show.  I can still imagine the neon TUCKER sign on the facade of the building.  I’m amazed at the documentation that you’ve been able to secure.  The whole story is fascinating.

Very interesting to see how the Tucker story actually played out at the regional level.

The fact that a Tucker dealership was in Williston Park, NY is flabbergasting.  It was, and still is, a small hamlet just north of Mineola, NY.  It is also amazing that that address was also a Studebaker dealership.  Two small makes that decided to be in a small, developing community,  Amazing.  Bob Andreocci

what a shame that the tucker automobiles never made it to the showrooms as it would of been a successful business.

Im surprised there were no Five Towns area Tucker dealerships. The people in that area were always the first to have something new and special like a Tucker.

What was the actual physical address of Joe Ida’s Tucker dealership in Yonkers, NY?

Hello, I wonder if you know the original people that bought the first 50, my grandfather was one of them, he was in Brooklyn and brought the car up to Ulster county New York, hit a deer and it screwed up the mechanism for the light, he must’ve searched for some help somewhere, now he passed away when I was six, in 1972 they sold the car and sent me to military school, I still have 100 shares of the stock, and a watch but really I would like to get some history on where the car is and anything about my grandfather thank you
