InstaGRAM report: Rob Ida invites you to the Futurliner Parade of Preservation on Saturday, November 14, 2026
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the maiden voyage of the restored 1939 GM Futurliner as Rob Ida drives it from New Jersey to the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan and then attend a nearby cars and coffee on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
This event has two parts: the first is the chance to join Rob Ida on a cruise to Manhattan so the Futurliner can be set up for Retromobile New York. The second part of the event is a Cars & Coffee in the nearby Meatpacking District.
I will be attending this spectacle and will cover the event in a future post the week after Rob Ida hosts it.

Rob Ida invites you to join him for a parade/cruise of the maiden voyage of the 1939 GM Futurliner.
Join our "Parade of Preservation" on Saturday, November 14th. Bring your specialty vehicle and drive with us through the Lincoln Tunnel.
Meet at Filoncino Cafe, (Located right next to Rob Ida’s shop) 3851 US-9 N, Old Bridge, NJ

Gather at 6:00 AM. Depart at 7:00 AM.

Based on my rough estimates, Rob and party should arrive at the Javits Center around 8:30 AM (I will be waiting there with my camera).
Because of the GM Futurliner's sheer 11'7" height, the Retromobile New York organizers need Rob to be the first vehicle set up in the Javits Center.
Rob continues with the plan: Once we're in Manhattan, the supporting cars will head to Cars & Coffee on the cobblestone streets of the Meatpacking District: 405 W 13th St New York, NY 10014

While the Futurliner will not be at the pop-up Cars & Coffee in the Meatpacking District of NYC, a great selection of classic and modern enthusiast cars will be participating including Tucker 1044.
