The Last Intact Motor Parkway Bridge in Suffolk County
Over the last five years, there have been numerous unsuccessful attempts to photograph the reportedly last intact Motor Parkway Bridge located in the Melville Sand Pits. Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation member Chris Giffuni sadly reports that this bridge was in destroyed sometime during the last ten years. (10 comments)

Update #3: Damage to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge
As reported over the last five months on VanderbiltCupRaces.com, the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge was subjected last year to dumping of debris and an attack by graffiti vandals. Update #1: Damage to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge
As reported on December 15, 2010, January 12, 2011, and February 15, 2011, the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge has been subjected to dumping of debris and an attack by graffiti vandals. First Meeting of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society
An outgrowth of the long-standing Long Island Motor Parkway Panel, a group dedicated to the preservation of the Long Island Motor Parkway was established last night at the Bonwit Inn on the Motor Parkway in Commack. Old Bethpage Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge to Receive a Cleaning
Last week Charles Muller commented on VanderbiltCupRaces.com that "the bridge in Bethpage Restoration is now being used as a garbage dump for the private farm located there. They are knocking down the rails with their equipment". (3 comments)

Then & Now: Potential Nassau Historical Markers on the Motor Parkway Trail
Nassau County is currently developing a master plan for a continuous multi-use Motor Parkway Trail. Part of the plan calls for the placement of markers "at the location of historical remnants and will serve as a way to educate the public on the history of the corridor as the original Long Island Motor Parkway..".
