    A Rare Photo of the North Hempstead Turnpike LIMP Bridge

    In the early 1950s, Robert C. Levine went for a walk with a friend in a Queens park and stumbled on remains of the Long Island Motor Parkway. The road ended on an abandoned bridge near ball fields in Fresh Meadows. His friend documented the moment in the above photo with Robert leaning on the guard rail. (1 comments)

    Large Crowd Attends Book-Signing for “The Long Island Motor Parkway”

    Last night almost 100 people attended the book-signing and presentation of "The Long Island Motor Parkway" by Al Velocci and Howard Kroplick at the Book Revue in Huntington. The special presentation featured an interactive discussion of 20 images from the book and unique memorabilia including the plaque awarded to driver George Robertson for winning the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race.     Can anyone identify the location of this 1914 photo showing a car near the Long Island Motor Parkway? The car is adjacent to a sign that apparently reads " To Parkway Inn, Lake Ronkonkoma via the Motor Parkway".
