The Long Island Automotive Museum in Southampton, New York was the foremost car museum on Long Island from 1948 to 1980...and is sadly missed. Founded and owned by the prominent collector and writer Henry Austin Clark, Jr., the museum featured a vast display of unique antique cars.

Austin Clark, Joe Tracy, Otis Chandler and the 1904 Sports Touring Mercedes
The always reliable Walter McCarthy has identified the mystery parked A.L.A.M. car posted last Wednesday as a 1904 Mercedes. What was the Long Island Automotive Museum?
The Long Island Automotive Museum was founded by the prominent automobile collector and writer Henry Austin Clark Jr. in 1948 in Southampton on Long Island. The museum featured many unique cars including the Thomas Flyer car that won the 1908 Paris-New York Race.
