Town of Hempstead Holding Hearing on Historic Motor Parkway Property on Wednesday
The Board of Appeals for the Town of Hempstead will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday concerning a petition from Crocus Lane Estates and Josato to rezone Levittown property on the former location of the Long Island Motor Parkway and Vanderbilt Cup Race grandstand and press box. (1 comments)

Race Profile: 1909 Massapequa Sweepstakes
During the 1909 Vanderbilt Cup Race, two other sweepstakes races (the Massapequa Sweepstakes and the Wheatley Hills Sweepstakes ) were run simultaneously for commercially available stock cars. The Massapequa Sweepstakes had six entrants for the smallest stock cars with engines 161 to 230 cubic inches. (6 comments)

The six Vanderbilt Cup Races from 1904 to 1910 were held on five different courses on Long Island. The last three races from 1908 to 1910 were partially held on the Long Island Motor Parkway.
