CSI Report:Montague Roberts and Robert Jardine in the 1905 American Elimination Trial
Steve Lucas forwarded a request from Barbara Russell, the Brookhaven Town Historian, to help identify two photos recently discovered in their archives. Steve wrote: "She was hoping that you could identify them as to date, event, place, and type of car. They appear to be a race and thought maybe one of the Vanderbilt Cup Races." (5 comments)

Prominent Women of the Vanderbilt Cup Races
The daybreak start of the Vanderbilt Cup Races attracted thousands of adventurous men and women who streamed into Long Island from New York City. With hotels and roadhouses overflowing, they camped, gambled, drank, socialized, and established a tradition of revelry that became a hallmark of the event.
