Matching a Motor Parkway License Plate to Its Original Owner
Peter, thanks for the follow-up to last week's post on the Long Island Motor Parkway porcelain plates and for sending photos of your father's wonderful car with his 1928 LIMP plate.
The archives of the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum includes thousands of Long Island Motor Parkway files. I recall several documents matching the Motor Parkway plate numbers with their owners for many of the years. The next time I go to the archives I will research the 1928 files for you and see if I can find a match for your father's plate.
