Later became a garage owner, aviator, racing car and boat builder, then a engineer and spark plug manufacturer, before becoming a race official. He even carried on racing well into his 50's. All of these was achieved despite, or maybe because of, being accused and then acquitted of murder back in 1902. Died after a long battle with illness.
