New York Region Sports Car Car Club of America

The New York Region was founded in 1948, shortly after WWII, when American servicemen returned home with sports cars from Europe and abroad and desired safe, organized competitions in which to test their skills and equipment. Friendly competitions on country roads and farmer's fields have grown into the highly organized and well rounded national club of the Sports Car Club of America with near 60,000 members nationawide and near 1200 here in New York Region.

We organize and sanction Road Racing events in the northeast at tracks such as Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, as well as a number of entry level Time Speed Distance (TSD) Road Rally events. Autocross or Solo II events are held from Long Island to northern Westchester county as well as Time Trials with our Chapter Club, the Poughkeepsie Sports Car Club.

Who are the people who are members of the New York Region (NYR)? They are as diversified as they are talented. They are family members (mom, dad, sister, brother) individuals, factory workers, doctors, lawyers, bakers, candlestick makers. They have one thing in common, their love and enthusiasm for motorsports.
