Long Island Thunderbirds

The Long Island Thunderbirds, is a chapter of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International (VTCI) and the International Thunderbird Club (ITC). We are dedicated to the preservation of the Ford Thunderbird and uniting the owners of these automobiles. This site has been created to help our members share and exchange knowledge about these vehicles. We publish a monthly newsletter, the Bird Talk, a "Golden Quill" award winner, that provides notices of club meetings, upcoming events, news of past events, our charity work, and other information of interest to our members.

The six Vanderbilt Cup Races held on Long Island from 1904 to 1910 were the greatest sporting events of their day, and the first international automobile road races held in the United States. The races had a far-reaching impact on the development of American automobiles and parkways. This site provides comprehensive information on the races, the Long Island Motor Parkway and current Long Island automotive events, car shows and news.
