Vanderbilt Cup Races

The 7th Annual Vanderbilt Centennial Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 and Sunday, October 24, 2010. The event will be returning to the Cradle of Aviation Museum located on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Garden City.

Among the activities currently being planned:

-A car show presented by the Long Island Sound Region of CCCA. All car clubs are welcome to park together. Contact Jim Barnes at 1-917-681-4274 or [email protected].

-Timed demonstration trials including runs by the Alco "Black Beast". Contact Guy Frost at 1-516-621-2745.

-A special Vanderbilt Cup Race Exhibit presented by Howard Kroplick in the museum's atrium.

-The Cradle of Aviation and Nunley's Carousel will be open for families.

-Wednesday, June 30, 2010, The Alco "Black Beast will be parked outside the Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd St., NYC, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for "Speakeasy" night. The museum's exhibitions including "Cars, Culture and the City" will stay open late and cocktails and music from the Prohibition Era will be offered.
