Video: My Grandfather Sold Motorcars (1920s)
Robert Martens has posted this YouTube video of photos from his grandparents Gustave & Margaret Martens of College Point's scrapbook featuring the family's Durant. Robert's grandfather sold Durant cars and took trips on the Motor Parkway.
At the 1:01 mark, two photos of a Martens family August 1923 trip are shown. The "Durant Special" can be seen in front of an unknown Long Island Motor Parkway bridge. Since the photo was taken in 1923, the bridge was located somewhere in Nassau or Suffolk counties.
