Keystone Bombers Over the Long Island Motor Parkway
One of most spectacular photos in the book The Long Island Motor Parkway shows Keystone bombers flying over Roosevelt Field and the Long Island Motor Parkway in East Garden City.
The view is looking to the east with Clinton Road across the bottom of the photo and Old Country Road to the left. The Motor Parkway can be seen under the wing tips of the middle two Keystone bombers and running parallel to Stewart Avenue. This 1931 photo is courtesy of the Cradle of Aviation Museum.
