Special Upcoming Presentation: “Exploring, Biking and Hiking Along the Historic Motor Parkway”
I hope you will be able to join me for a presentation next Tuesday (April 2, 2013) at a meeting of the Long Island Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
I will be presenting a discussion of the Long Island Motor Parkway and its use in the historic Vanderbilt Cup Races. As a special feature, I will be suggesting Motor Parkway routes to explore, hike and bike on and near this historic road.
The meeting, open to the public, begins at 7:30 pm at St. Luke's Luthern Church, 20 Candlewood Path, Dix Hills, NY 11746. The church is located right off the Motor Parkway! The presentation is scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm.
Enjoy,
Howard Kroplick

I’ll be seeing you April 2 at your presentation,I’m looking foward to it,I would very much like to explore the Motor Parkway
I would have loved to hear this presentation! Perhaps you’ll mention some of these opportunities at the Greater New York AACA meeting on Thursday night. Are we still on your schedule for an 8 pm meeting? Ellyn Okvist will follow you and speak for a few minutes about plans for a future group ride.

“Thank you again for a most enjoyable presentation on the History of the Long Island Motor Parkway. I think people learned a lot and have some new places to explore right in their own backyard.”
