Museum Road Trip: The Concept Cars of the Blackhawk Automotive Museum
This month my friends and I took a trip to see a football game in Santa Clara, California. It was a great opportunity to take a road trip to a special automotive museum -the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, California.
I was especially excited to see Blackhawk's collection of rare concept show cars and prototypes.

The Blackhawk Automotive Museum is one of the world's leading classic car museums. The collection of approximately 50 cars showcases the style, glamour and speed of automobiles from the 1920s to 1960s.
As shown, the cars are beautifully displayed in an art gallery format. These five concept and prototype cars alone are well worth the visit to this amazing museum.

1955 Dodge Firebomb Convertible Prototype for the Dual-Ghia
Chrysler couldn’t get away with a name like “Firebomb” today, but in 1955 it was the perfect name for this Ghia-designed droptop. And unlike most show cars, this one actually went into production. Detroit magnate Eugene Casaroll purchased the design and production rights from Chrysler and made the car under the name Dual-Ghia between 1956 and 1958. The cars ran 315 c.i. hemis and rode on Chrysler chassis. Famous Dual-Ghia owners included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Richard Nixon.
