Malverne Treasure #4: Survey of the Meadowbrook Lodge in Westbury (January 1938)

Over 200 Long Island Motor Parkway surveys, maps, blueprints, documents and drawings discovered by Roy Knoernschild in a Malverne basement in February 2017 are being categorized, repaired and scanned. This January 1938 Motor Parkway survey documented the Meadowbrook Lodge, four months before the road and the lodge were closed.

Enjoy,

Howard Kroplick

Circa 1950. Note the bridge is gone and there is a concrete barrier west of bridge location.

The LIMP roadbed appears to be non existent in the 1955 aerial, east & west of Merrick Ave. Recognizable in 1950. Area was under development but I’m surprised still to not see a path at least.

Great stuff Howard. I’ve been waiting for this for some time. Thanks to Roy for saving these gems. It all matches up as suspected. Thank you to all!
