Vanderbilt Cup Races

A Locomobile Vanderbilt Cup issued by the Locomobile to celebrate their victory in the 1908 race was sold for $2,300 on eBay earlier this month.

Locomobile offered miniature versions of the cup; a radiator mascot for $2.25 and a version without the radiator cap $1.50. It was reported that Locomobile also provided special silver versions of the cup to the driving team and executives at the November 9, 1908 celebration in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

This highly collectible Vanderbilia has appeared six times on eBay over the last four years with  an average price of $2,051 with a range from $1,125 to $2,806.
